Friday, October 03, 2008 12:54 PM I met your mother in the 1960's I was a divorced mother of five, tending bar at Vi's gas light on South Beach. I did not know her well, but a wonderfull story has stayed with me all these years. It seem's that your mother had planted some tomatoes in her yard, and they were not doing to well. It also seem's that the Ringling Brother"s Circus was in town at the Miami Beach Convention Center, so your mother went down and talked them into delivering her some corral dirt to her tomatoes for fertilizer. What was delivered was a 50ft trailor full of all the animals straw bedding, elephant's' lion's camel's not just the horse manure. they say that it covered the yard a foot deep, also the tomatoes were huge and flavorfull, but if the wind was not blowing east the dinner's at Joe,s had a whiff of the circus along with their stone crabs.I heard it lasted till the next season. It just goes to show' you can take the girl out of the country, but not the country out of the girl. you are missed country girl Big mary Mary Klein (Miami Beach, FL)
